Mike in Turkey
Mike Schaaf is a world traveler and frequent blogger. He has carried his trusty laptop all over the globe. Computer backup is an important and essential part of his travel routine. Mike has lived in remote areas of South America including a 7 year stint in the jungles of Columbia.
He has traveled extensively by sailboat throughout the Caribbean as well as the Aegean Sea.
Mike has most recently been traveling throughout Southeast Asia in Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, and Cambodia. It was on a recent canoe trip in Laos that his laptop was dunked into the Mekong River by accident. Without backup, all of Mike’s files would have been lost. Thanks to online backup, however, all of his files were easily recovered. It was this incident that inspired the creation of this web site. Mike is currently living in Thailand.

Alan Schaaf is a computer science major at Ohio University. Alan is the technical advisor and brains of the site. Alan is host of the weekly web radio show TechTalk on www.acrn.com. He is also the creator of www.imgur.com, the free image sharing web site that is fast becoming the most popular image sharing site on the web. He is currently working on a new iPhone application that he intends to unveil shortly.
